Job Description: Shelter Operations Manager (POSITION OPENS SEP 2025)
Job Summary
The Shelter Operations Manager (SOM) is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the program, providing facility oversight, and the supervision of residential staff and volunteers. The SOM will assist in the development of effective program planning and implementation.

Primary Relationships

Duties and Responsibilities
Household Management
- Oversee the execution of daily household activities during normal working hours. Report any maintenance issues to the PM. In the absence of a PM, report to the ED.
- Maintain the safety and security of all residents, volunteers, staff, and visitors, always staying up-to-date on safety procedures. Conduct safety drills.
- Provide oversight of program requirements, e.g., intake orientation, groups, assessments, reviews, and discharges.
- Assist the residential staff in arranging transportation for resident appointments, support group meetings, shopping, employment, etc.
- Monitor all spending and financial activity, and collect credit/debit card and petty cash receipts from the residential staff.
Supervision
- Ensure all residential staff complies with the policies, procedures, and core values of the program.
- Ensure that residential staff enforce all guidelines outlined in the Resident Student Policy Manual.
- Lead by example in modeling a healthy lifestyle in the body, soul, and spirit; including an active, growing relationship with the Lord.
- Facilitate a calm, nurturing, open-minded, non-judgmental presence in the home.
- Provide support and crisis help as needed using appropriate crisis management skills.
- Maintain healthy relational boundaries with residents and staff.
- Speak the truth with love when Biblical correction is needed.
- Approve and oversee daily schedules and transportation plans for residents.
- Closely monitor residential staff, volunteers, or interns’ compliance with and implementation of Individual Service Plans (ISPs).
- Residential staffing: develop schedules, back-ups, and emergency response.
- Monitor weekly Life Skills training with residents and conduct as needed.
- Monitor the completion of program assignments and group/bookwork.
- Collaborate with Care Team in exploring, planning, and organizing family outings and recreational opportunities(shopping, community events, etc.).
- Monitor the orientation of new residents by residential staff (including property searches, drug screen, intake paperwork, etc.).
- Provide oversight for all drug testing, room searches, and the administration and documentation of prescribed and OTC medication use of participants.
- Assist the PD in the selection, hiring, coaching, and discipline of residential staff.
- Assist the PD to ensure the proper orientation and on-going training of staff.
- Conduct annual training for all residential staff.
- Develop a yearly staff training plan and complete annual staff evaluations.
- Direct, plan, and coordinate the scheduling of regular team meetings and team building.
- Oversee all volunteers/interns, including recruitment, training, issue resolution, and acknowledgments.
- Review shift notes regularly.
Communication
- Maintain daily communication with residential staff concerning scheduling and events.
- Act as a liaison and bridge of communication between the program and administration.
- Collaborate with the CD to communicate resident case management goals that require the supportive involvement of residential staff.
- Organize, attend, and facilitate (as requested) weekly staff meetings to maintain effective communication and healthy relationships with staff.
- Review and update all program forms, intakes, handbooks, and other materials needed for effective program operation supervision of residential staff and volunteers.
- Review weekly folder of documents, checklists, incident reports, phone lists, visitor lists, and transportation logs for each resident.
- Attend all mandatory employee training and staff meetings.
- Provide progress updates to the PD and CD upon request.
- Communicate any prayer concerns to the intercessory team.
Professional and Personal Development

Job Description: Care Coach (Day Shift) SUB POSITIONS ONLY
Job Summary
The Care Coach (CC) is responsible for maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment and coordinating program activities to meet the needs of program residents. She collaborates with the Shelter Operations Manager (SOM) to provide the optimal continuum of care for each resident.

- Screen all materials brought into the home, including books, music, magazines, and videos, and remove anything sexually explicit or of satanic influence.
- Supervise/participate in meal planning and grocery shopping (Saturday).
- Track household supplies and order supply replenishment as needed.
- Responsible for staying within budget (do not spend any money without approval from ED).
- Submit credit/debit card and petty cash receipts to the SOM/ED promptly.
Resident Student Care
- Ensure that residents follow all guidelines as outlined in the Resident Policy Manual.
