Job Description: Care Coach (Day Shift)
Job Summary
The Care Coach (CC) is responsible for maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment and coordinating program activities to meet the needs of program residents. She collaborates with the Shelter Operations Manager (SOM) to provide the optimal continuum of care for each resident.
Compensation
- $14 per hour
Schedule
- Part-Time: 9a-5p (8-hours)
- Shifts available for 1-3 days per week (8-21 hours)

Primary Relationships
- Reports to the SOM. In the absence of the SOM, reports to the Executive Director (ED)
- Internal relationships - works primarily with the SOM, Program Director (PD), and other residential staff and volunteers/interns
- External relationships - resources in the community that support the program
Duties and Responsibilities
Household Management
- Manage daily household activities, including lunch and dinner preparation and cleanliness of Rachel’s Refuge. Check that residents are completing daily household tasks and weekly chores. Report any maintenance issues to the SOM.
- Maintain the safety and security of all residents, volunteers, staff, and visitors, always staying up-to-date on safety procedures.
- Screen all materials brought into the home, including books, music, magazines, and videos, and remove anything sexually explicit or of satanic influence.
- Supervise/participate in meal planning and grocery shopping (Saturday).
- Track household supplies and order supply replenishment as needed.
- Responsible for staying within budget (do not spend any money without approval from ED).
- Submit credit/debit card and petty cash receipts to the SOM/ED promptly.
Resident Care
- Ensure that residents follow all guidelines as outlined in the Resident Policy Manual.
- Lead by example in modeling a healthy lifestyle in the body, soul, and spirit; including an active, growing relationship with the Lord.
- Facilitate a calm, nurturing, open-minded, non-judgmental presence in the home.
- Provide support and crisis help as needed using appropriate crisis management skills.
- Speak the truth with love when Biblical correction is needed.
- Implement daily schedules and confirm transportation requirements for residents.
- Develop Individual Service Plans (ISPs) under the supervision of the PD, engaging staff and volunteers as needed.
- Conduct weekly Life Skills training with residents.
- Complete program assignments and group/bookwork with residents.
- Transport residents to medical, dental, vision, therapy appointments, and recovery programs.
- Collaborate with the Care Team in exploring, planning, and organizing family outings and recreational opportunities(shopping, community events, etc.).
- Prepare the Welcome Kits (including linens, toiletries, etc.).
- Complete the orientation process with new residents.
- Review and practice program policies and expectations consistently with residents.
- Conduct drug testing and room searches as needed.
- Administer and document prescribed and OTC medication use of participants.
- Arrange for prescription refills and pickup and maintain accurate and current records.
- Maintain healthy relational boundaries with residents and staff.
Communication
- Complete shift notes at the end of the work shift.
- Maintain daily communication with the SOM concerning scheduling and events.
- Maintain weekly folder of documents, checklists, incident reports, phone lists, visitor lists, and transportation logs for each resident.
- Attend weekly and other scheduled staff meetings.
- Report and document any resident or staff incidents, conflicts, or emergencies.
- Provide progress updates to the PD upon request.
- Communicate any prayer concerns to the intercessory team.
Professional Development
- Participate in continuing education as required; provide documentation to SOM.
- Attend mandatory employee training.
- Participate in self-care and inner healing retreats.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
Qualifications
- An Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in behavioral or social sciences, social work, psychology, counseling, marriage, and family therapy or a related field, or a high school diploma or GED with two years of direct service experience or trauma-related service provision
- Satisfactory preliminary background check
- A current, valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and clean driving record
- Attend a Bible-believing church and small groups regularly
- Current CPR and First-Aid certification, preferred
- Must be able to climb two flights of stairs

Job Description: Care Coach (Evening and Overnight Shift)
Job Summary
The Care Coach (CC) Overnight Staff oversees daily activities at Rachel’s Refuge before and after normal working hours.
Compensation
- $8 per hour
Schedule
- Part-Time: 5p-9a (16-hours)
- Shifts available for 1-2 days (16-32 hours per week)
- Shift allows for sleeping between the hours of 10:00-6:30a when not assisting a resident
